| SOLD - $1800 - Vintage 17' OLD TOWN wood & canvas canoe EXCELLENT CONDITION
This is a great 17 foot Adirondack Fishing boat from Lake George NY. in really fabulous condition, obviously always stored inside and with great color and surface, it's how you want to find these, includes a pair of paddles. Only defect is the cane on the back seat is ripped, in fact cane on both seats should be replaced as they have gotten quite brittle. I have not looked up the serial number on this one (Old Town can supply you with the date of production and name of the original owner) Paddles like a dream, beautiful and QUITE!!, not like those noisy clunker fiberglass or plastic drums that they try to pass off as boats today, and the keel gives you a lot of directional stability on lakes and other open water. We have also paddled and fished this boat in smaller rivers like the Battenkill here in Vermont so it is quite versatile. Or just hang it up it's a beautiful piece of sculpture. It probably weighs about 80 Lbs.. I hope you like my photos of a day out on Gale Meadows Pond near Stratton VT. We were the auctioneers of the estate here, about ten years ago when the Greens (who had donated it all to the State Of Vermont ) passed away. A perfectly lovely spot to paddle, we'll give you directions if you buy the boat and decide to pick it up yourself, our shop is very close by. Shipping is not a problem, we ship every day, or you can come visit Vermont and get it yourself. If your not too far away we'll probably deliver ourselves, we have a truck that runs up and down the East Coast every month, figure about$200 to NJ, $400 or so to FL. Otherwise we'll throw it on a commercial moving truck, a little more expensive but really not bad. Storage is also not a problem if you prefer to pick it up in the spring we don't mind storing it (its hanging from the ceiling of our antique shop here in Manchester VT). I'm sure you folks know more about these then I do, so if your serious don't hesitate to ask questions.
